What are Aduvee coins?

Coins are the money inside Aduvee. Once your free matches and any rewards are used up, coins keep you matching, and they're also what gifts are priced in. You buy them in the wallet, they sit in your balance, and you spend them when you choose to.

If you've only just arrived, you don't need any yet. Aduvee is free to start, and the page on what's free on Aduvee shows exactly where the free part ends.

Where do you see your balance?

At the top of the match screen there's a coin icon with a number next to it. That number is your balance. On a laptop it sits at the top right, between VIP and the settings button. Tap it and the wallet's coins page opens, with your balance shown again at the top.

If your balance looks odd, that's the first place to check. More on that further down.

Signed in on both your phone and your laptop? It's the same balance on each, because the coins belong to your account rather than to the device.

Topping up, step by step

Buying coins happens in one place, the coins page in your wallet.

  1. Open the wallet

Tap the coin counter at the top of the match screen.

  2. Pick a package

The coins page lists the packages and what each one costs. Bigger ones add bonus coins.

  3. Pay and carry on

Finish the payment, and the coins land in your balance.

Before buying coins for an account you care about, sign in. Coins belong to your account, so they're kept even if you clear your browser.

What coins pay for

Two things, mainly. First, matching after the free start: when your free matches and rewards are gone, coins let you keep tapping Start random chat. Second, gifts: in a chat window and in live rooms, each gift shows its coin price before you send it.

Say you've used up the free start after a late shift. You can still browse who's online and open profiles for nothing; the moment you tap Start random chat again, that's where coins come in.

For anything else, the screen you're on is the best guide. Tap it and Aduvee tells you what happens next. We'd rather point you there than print a price list here that could go stale.

What does VIP add?

VIP is a monthly membership on top of coins. The VIP page lists what it adds: a monthly allowance of coins, a VIP badge on your profile, and display controls that let you show or hide your level, your PopScore and your VIP status. The page also says more perks are on the way.

VIP isn't needed for anything basic. Matching, browsing, profiles and messages all work without it. Think of it as a way to get coins every month plus a few extras, worth it for people who are on Aduvee most evenings and not for someone trying it out.

You reach the VIP page from the VIP button at the top of the match screen.

Gifts in live rooms

Live rooms are where gifts get used most. You watch someone who's live, comment along with everyone else, and if you enjoy it, you send a gift. The price in coins is on each gift, so you always know what you're spending.

You can find rooms in the Live tab of the video feed. From a room you can also go one-on-one, if that's what you're after. Please keep gifts as a thank-you, never as a bargaining chip; the community guidelines are clear that nobody should be pushing anyone else for money.

Something went wrong with a payment

First check your balance on the coins page; sometimes it takes a moment to update. If the coins still haven't arrived, or you were charged twice, write to us through the contact page. Include the time of the purchase, the package, and any receipt or reference you got.

Never send card details to anyone in a chat, and never buy coins through someone who messages you about a “cheaper” deal. Coins come from the wallet on Aduvee and nowhere else.
